Be sure to always start your skincare routine with SPF all year long but especially in the summer. This product has an SPF of 30 that you can reapply throughout the day and is oil free and doesn’t flash white under foundations.
If you want a little extra coverage and even more SPF, my summer foundation routine switches to a BB cream in warmer months. I find that foundation clogs my pores and is too heavy for sweaty skin. Instead, I use Maybelline dream fresh BB cream in Dark that moisturizes your skin and also has a SPF of 30.
Yes SPF is vital for summer, but if you do want a tan … use Maui Babe Browning Lotion instead of an oil. This is for the days you are laying out, not at a pool party. The dark brown color of the lotion is messy so don’t wear a white bikini but you will get a nice tan color from this product instead of a reddish tone.
While you are outside, you might get hot and your skin could get dry from the heat. So be sure to add in some extra moisture with Evian’s facial natural mineral water spray. Yes water in a can sounds stupid, but when you are hot and you mist yourself with this… you will fall in love! It can also help to set your makeup.
If you do want a little bit of makeup for summer or pool days, be sure to use waterproof products and things that won’t glide off your skin. Use a waterproof mascara even if you aren’t getting in the water so it doesn’t sweat off.
Also, lipstick can get really messy and melted when its hot. I prefer to use a tinted lip balm that hydrates, gives me a little bit of color and some SPF all in one. Sugar makes a few different colors that are really moisturizing and won’t melt down your face once it gets hot.
