Paddle Boarding

I love to be near the water but I don’t actually love to get in it. So for me, paddle boarding is a great way to enjoy the ocean without having to get in it. I tried it for the first time in Jamaica and I actually really liked it. So I went for round two!

It looks hard but it really is fun and a great workout too. Trying to balance while using your arms to push you along the water is kind of tough! I like it because I paddle out a lot further than I would swimming and I haven’t fallen off yet *crosses my fingers*

So is it a good workout?! Here are some benefits

  • You will make use of balance and strength in order to remain upright and propel yourself in the water
  • If you are paddling in the ocean and there are a lot of waves and an ocean current, your workout will be intense
  • Paddle boarding will provide you with a great core workout as well. Almost every muscle in the body is used at some point
  • Your leg muscles will be hard at work attempting to maintain your balance

  1. Love this blog post. I absolutely fell in love with paddle boarding in Sardinia last summer. It’s so much fun, a great way to see the island and such a good workout!
